Pink Lips

Whoa! Sorry for being MIA on blogger, forgive me, I've been busy looking for a job and attending interviews, here's hoping :) Crossing my fingers!

Anyway, I wanted to blog about lipstick. I've never worn lipstick, ever.. I hated it. But recently, actually 3 months ago, I came across this perfect red lipstick that my mom has. She wears lipstick all the time. I tried the red for the first time and I fell in love. The problem? I have no where to actually go with this look lol.



I don't have the guts to wear a dramatic colour, but I'm going to have to step out of my comfort zone sooner or later. Also I hate that the lipstick gets on my teeth.. I need to invest in a good lip primer.



Last month I received this fuchsia lipstick from my cousin. I took the cap off and was astonished at the pigmentation. It so happens that it is the same brand as the red.



Yesterday, I was playing around with lip colours and totally fell in love with the fuchsia. I layered it with a light pink gloss, which is why I love the colour even more.





I need to work up the courage in order to set foot out of my house with these lips. They're fierce and I need to embrace that!

Garden 2010

Hey guys!
So I haven't blogged about life or anything in a long time. I apologize, just got caught up running a bunch of errands. Follow me a on Twitter, you'll know what I am up to.

I just wanted to post some pictures of the little garden in front of my house. My mom did put down some plants on Sunday. I couldn't help her because of my allergies. I had a bad reaction that night too.. ugh.

Anyway I'm going to post the before shots. I'm excited to see the roses bloom, and the mix of lilies.

2 years ago we planted lilies, and every year they returned, except this year.. One plant didn't bloom. My mom thinks a squirrel attacked it. Anyway, here are the shots.

Smashbox's Emulsion Lip Exfoliant is my favourite lip scrub. I have been using it for over 4 years now. It still looks brand new! Retail price: $18

I like to make my own lip scrubs with sugar and olive oil. Even my toothbrush works great, but I keep going back to my Smashbox. This scrub makes my lips incredibly soft, removes all the dead skin cells and peeling skin.

The consistency is thick at first but once you apply it to your lips and rub it in the beads separate and it becomes grainy.



The product is peppermint infused, so you can bet it smells great!

The affect is instant, but the directions say to leave it on for 5-10 minutes for extra conditioning. Make sure to apply a lip conditioner (lip balm) to your lips, to keep them from drying out.

Time to try something new!

I've been using Pantene Pro-V shampoo for ages, because it's been good to my hair. Unlike Herbal Essence which makes my hair fall out. Generally, I switch between Pantene and Garnier. I recently ran out of my big bottled Pantene so I picked up these massive 750ml bottles of Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition at Shoppers Drug Mart.

In 1 week I will let you know how it reacts to my hair.

Triple Nutrition provides 3 nutritive fruit oils, olive, avocado and shea. I love all three of these oils, they are fantastic for my skin. This was part of the reason why I purchased the shampoo and conditioner.

I have thick and coarse hair, it is naturally wavy. It can get pretty oily by the third way, which is why I wash it every 3 days to lock in my natural oils.

Triple Nutrition is also recommended for dried and damaged hair. Although, my hair is not severely damaged, I do use my flat iron every time I have to style my hair. It can be dry sometimes.

I'm really excited to try out this line!

Workout Wednesday

So yesterday I was working out and possibly sprained something in my back. It was probably from my little jump rope exercise. I haven't jumped rope in literally 10 years. The other thing is I need proper running shoes! These random Nike's I have aren't cutting it. My ankles and feet hurt so much. Funny thing is that I was on my feet all day today. I had a little limp..

I haven't blogged all day because my back has been bringing me down. I feel like an old person :( .. my friends say I should just stretch it out, and that is what I am doing!

I'm hoping for a pain free Friday so I can get back to doing some crunches. At least I'm eating, that's keeping me going.

It's after 11pm right now so I'm going to head to bed. I had a horrible sleep last night, I'm definitely looking forward to tonight.

DIY: Egg White Facial

Hey! Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday. It's time for another DIY. I have been using this technique for about a year now. I really started using natural products ever since I got hit with acne 2 years ago. Now this one just consists of eggs, particularly the egg white. This facial has become one of the most popular tips out there.



The egg white contains calcium, potassium and iron. By applying it to your face you receive an instant lift. It is known to reduce the appearance of minor breakouts and enlarged pores. The egg yolk contains a lot of protein and nutrients that are very moisturizing.

Let's begin:

1. You will need one egg. And start by cracking it open and separating the yolk. Do this over a bowl so that the egg whites can be collected. Put aside the yolk for now.
2. Lightly whisk the egg white, until it is frothy.
**Make sure your face is cleansed and un-moisturized.
3. Now take a small amount of the egg white in your fingers or with a cotton pad. Apply it to your face.
** You may apply several layers of the egg white, do this quickly as the egg whites will dry.
4. Let this dry for 10-15 minutes. You can tell when it is time when you cannot move your face.
5. Rinse your face with warm water and pat dry.
6. Now you can use the yolk! Take about a teaspoon and apply to your face.
7. The process is similar, wait until the yolk dries and wash with warm water.
8. Apply your favourite moisturizer.

Now say hello to an instant face lift! It's Botox the natural way.

Fashion Haul

So over the weekend I went to the mall and was not expecting to do any purchases. However, considering there were a bunch of stores that had an additional 50% off I decided to take advantage of that. I picked up 3 tops on Saturday and 3 more on Sunday. They are perfect for the summer and even better, they can be layered up for the fall/winter!

I love my purchases. I'm hoping to do some outfit of the day posts soon. Keep an eye out for that. The pictures didn't turn out amazing, the lighting in my room is horrible.
